Dr. Ricardo Garcia joins GeneToBe as new Vice President of Translational Sciences

We at GeneToBe Inc., are pleased to welcome Dr. Ricardo Garcia as our new Vice President of Translational Sciences.
We are committed to the pursuit of new and innovative medicines to treat serious diseases. Ricardo’s proven leadership ability, track record of scientific accomplishments in disease biology research and extensive experience in drug discovery will be important assets to our organization to drive our growing pipeline. Dr. Garcia recently served as Head of Cardiovascular Pharmacology at Bristol Myers Squibb where he oversaw research at east and west coast BMS discovery sites, and worked closely with colleagues based in Bangalore, India. Throughout his 17-year tenure at BMS, he held roles of increasing responsibility to drive the internal discovery pipeline. Prior to BMS, Dr. Garcia was a Senior Scientist of Cardiovascular Drug Discovery at the Esperion Therapeutics Division of Pfizer Global Research & Discovery for three years where he directed projects to develop novel therapies that regress atherosclerosis and enhance cardiac repair. Ricardo’s commitment to drug discovery led to multiple drug candidates entering clinical trials to treat lipid disorders, cardiometabolic disease and myocardial infarction. Ricardo received his PhD from Northwestern University and postdoctoral training at UC San Diego in cardiovascular pharmacology and physiology. He also concurrently held a faculty position at UC San Diego, Department of Medicine from 2007-2022.
